Back from Camp Jaw. It was pretty fun but tiring. :)
Run down of activities:
Wipe out
Rope courses (all 8 of them ;p)
5 am 45 min trek up to the waterfall (had to cross like 4 streams/rivers and hike up a steep mountain, then I had to hunt for my breakfast)
Dodgeball
40 ft wall climb
Pretty awesome Mudslide
Zip line

It was pretty fun, we had 43 participants and the place was pretty awesome, we should head up there sometime for a bonding session or something :)

Pretty much my weekend thank god its a holiday tomorrow! :)

So I spent Saturday night celebrating with friends because it was Terrie's birthday. Went to a bar in Malate with her, [info]mlina, [info]skylites, [info]devolveddarling & [info]slpwlkngdreamer - Drank lots and lots of alcohol and there are pictures up in multiply and no matter what it looks like I was NOT drunk... maybe tipsy ^_~

Got hit on by the lead singer in the band that was performing... yes... I know... went gallivanting off to Starbucks that was open at 3 am and lo and behold had to climb over my front gate at 4 am to get back into the house (because my brothers refused to open the door! :c ) and we all crashed in the TV room. :)

Today we basically just met up again and had a wonderful yoga lesson with our surprise guest Bindi! Corey's lovely adorable dog that could probably pull off all those yoga poses better than I can :)

Plans for the week:
Tuesday -meeting terrie for lunch the off to Ahono, Rizal [the art town] :) then we're going to drop by [info]mlina's place [of course we have no idea where that is :)

Wednesday - Terrie and I will be job hunting around Taft so if anyone is free :)

Thursday - [info]skylites, [info]mlina, terrie and I will be off to Tiendesitas to buy me a yoga mat and have dinner together! :) [info]devolveddarling wanna join us? :)

Friday - Will pamper myself with a trip to the parlor... and probably freak out in the middle due to my upcoming graduate studies exam- and therefore end up with a wacko hair cut/ dye job or whatever... :)

Spent tonight bonding with my cousins :) We had dinner together and then we head on upstairs to play this really creepy game I forgot the name hotel 626 I think! ;p There we were shrieking- all 11 of us (the older ones) watching this tiny screen (we used a laptop) and freaking out and yelling out instructions to the person with the mouse, which changed hands every time we died! Haha- its a pretty cool game, you guys should play it. ^_^

Alex, one of the kids from my summer camp, from the French delegation moved to Indonesia and so he decided to visit us. :) Anyway we went to Rockwell and had a late lunch watched 17 again and had dinner at Kulinarya, so we were having a lot of fun catching up and walking around and suddenly there was this huge flood of people running towards us and I swear the first thought that popped into my mind was "Oh its probably some star" then we heard glass breaking and all the stores started to close the grills! It was super scary I thought there was a gunman or bomb scare or something so I grabbed my kids and running we went :) Alex, his face was super funny it was the "I can't believe this is happening to me face!" we got out and found out that it was a fire at one of the restaurants. :) Oh well a pretty interesting close to the evening.

Also Lorraine left for the states today :(

Light for life 1/25

  • Jan. 17th, 2009 at 9:36 PM
Bike
Hey guys, me and a bunch of my friends in C.I.S.V are planning this- well not really event but sort of and here's basically what it is. Hope you can find time to join, its really simple and doesn't take up that much time :)

The reignited war in Gaza is entering its fourth week. The decades-long Israeli-Palestinian conflict has yet to be resolved, and the protracted war has caused the loss of innocent lives. It is not an easy war to understand, and each of us has political and religious beliefs and biases. We may not agree with other people's stands on the war. Perhaps the one thing we all acknowledge is the fact that there has been unnecessary bloodshed on both sides, blood of women, of children, and of those who fought in the war.

On January 25, 2009 (Sunday) at 8:00pm local time, people around the world, regardless of political and religious belief, will participate in Light for Life. It is not promoting any stand, nor is it advocating any political action. It is a call for solidarity with a simple goal: to remember victims of the war. We invite you to light a candle and spend two minutes in silence.

What else can you do?

Get counted

If you would like to participate in Light for Life, send an e-mail with your name and location to lightforlife125@gmail.com. If you have a Facebook account, confirm your attendance to the Light for Life event.

Scatter the light

Tell your family and friends about Light for Life. Forward this e-mail, invite them to the sign up to the Light for Life event on Facebook, send a text message, leave a post-it note. Organize your own get together (perhaps dinner, movie night, an open discussion on the war) on January 25 at 8:00pm so that you can participate in Light for Life as a group.

Let others shine

Take Light for Life to your school or workplace. Encourage your schoolmates and co-workers to join the event on January 25, as well as the off-shoot Light for Life which will be participated in by schools and offices on January 26 (Monday) at their own convenient time. Please also let us know if you're school or office will be participating by sending us an e-mail with your school/ company name and an estimate of how many will be joining.

Create an afterglow

Share with the rest of the world how you, your family, and your friends participated in Light for Life by e-mailing photos, reflections, or anything about your experience. These will be put up on our page to show everyone around the world one of the many creative, non-violent ways we can work towards peace.

Share that light bulb moment

If Light for Life has inspired you to come up with other ideas for peace initiatives, whether on the individual, community, national, or international level, let us know about it. Send us an e-mail or share it on Facebook! Who knows, your idea might just spark other light bulb moments across the globe!

Remember, this is just the beginning. We hope that Light for Life serves as a starting point for discussions and other civil actions that advocate for peace not only in Israel and Palestine, but also in all our own countries and the rest of the world.

Bicol

So my family and I went off to camarines sur in Bicol we were about 22 people :) Went to this island Caramoan, apparently Survivor was held there {not sure if it was a US survivor or french or something but it was survivor}. WE stayed at a resort called Gota which was lovely and we went spelunking [sp?], watched movies, had a picnic dinner and just had fun hanging out.

We then moved to CWC [camsur water sports complex] or something like that :) Tried our hands at wakeboarding which is why I am now in pain but it was worth it. Wakeboarding is pretty fun actually :) note: I am in pain though

and now... I'm home :)

Met [info]coffeebased, [info]mlina and [info]slpwlkngdreamer and just hung out, it's a bit sad I won't make it to the ice skating thing on the 26th but its cool :) Oh and everyone was really cool about my being in pain thing, and everyone was super understanding about the sporadic bursts of "I am in pain" throughout the conversation. :)

Finally...

Happy Holidays everyone! Enjoy the Christmas season and the great food!

I managed my first game this past Saturday and well it was super sad we lost by one on the last inning :s Oh well my sister played okay. :)

It was really fun- I love the girls- I feel so old when I'm with them though- ugh! :s They're all so tall and pretty and... ;-; Good thing I've got a big ego! Haha :)

I completely forgot to enroll for French classes will have to come in a day late ;p But that was completely expected. I might not make it in time for 3rd term in DLSU because I've done jack shit! Haha- so I'll probably start my M.A. first term '09 I'm such a loser- I've grown really lazy! :)

Kisses everyone! I miss you guys! :)
